Art Therapy

Art Therapy can help to make sense of the world and give expression to experiences through different creative processes. These processes include drawing, painting, clay work, sand play, collage etc. and are guided by the Art Therapist.

Art Therapy allows issues to emerge through creativity, in a safe, non-threatening and supported way. It can be used to explore our emotions and help us understand the impact they have on how we live and the choices we make.

Art is for everyone

Sometimes we don’t have the words to express or articulate our thoughts and feelings. I'll support and guide you to create and explore through the process of making art. The focus is not on the end product but the process. When an artwork arrives at a state of completeness, we may use the piece as a point of reflection.

I will not make any interpretations of your work, but rather collaboratively explore the artwork together and support you therapeutically with what shows up.

Creative expression provides opportunities for self-exploration, building capacity, self-awareness, deepening understandings of self and others, acceptance and healing. It can help in the development of coping strategies for the stresses and anxieties in life which may be preventing us from living well.
